Objective

To discuss the rationale of solutions used for Zero Balanced Ultrafiltration. Why we use Zero Balanced Ultrafiltration.. In recent years it has been shown that Zero Balanced Ultrafiltration to be of benefit in patients requiring removal of harmful small cytokine molecules that may be present in septic states as well as the removal of drugs that contribute to bleeding after cardiac surgery

Method

Discuss literature searches of the rationale of Zero Balanced Ultrafiltration practice.

Results

Zero Balanced Ultrafiltration is shown to be a safe, effective and inexpensive procedure for fluid and electrolyte balance used during cardiopulmonary bypass.

Conclusion

Zero Balanced Ultrafiltration to be an effective means of fluid removal and ameliorating the effects of cardioplegia during cardiopulmonary bypass.
