BSP Spring meeting

Overview

The British Society for Parasitology Spring Meeting 2027 will take place at Cardiff University from 6th – 9th April 2027, bringing together researchers, clinicians, industry representatives, policy-makers and practitioners from across the globe to explore the role of parasitology in addressing some of the most pressing health challenges facing society today.

The theme of the meeting is "One Health", recognising the interconnected nature of human, animal and environmental health. As emerging infectious diseases, environmental change, biodiversity loss and globalisation continue to reshape disease landscapes, parasitology remains at the forefront of understanding and addressing these complex challenges. The meeting will provide a forum for sharing the latest research, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and exploring innovative solutions that bridge traditional disciplinary boundaries.

We invite the submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentations from researchers at all career stages. We particularly encourage submissions from students and early-career researchers. Contributions are welcomed from across the full breadth of parasitology and related disciplines, including fundamental research, applied studies, policy-focused work and interdisciplinary approaches. The scientific programme will showcase a diverse range of topics spanning molecular, ecological, veterinary, medical and environmental parasitology.

Planned sessions include:

• Environmental Change and Zoonotic Risk: Global and Regional Drivers

• Environmental Change, Pollution and Local Zoonotic Drivers

• Wildlife Reservoirs and Spillover

• Livestock, Farming and Human Interfaces

• Vectors, Hosts and Transmission Pathways

• From Molecules to Spillover: Molecular and Evolutionary Mechanisms
