Simon Close

Simon is currently Head of Technology at Morrisons. Having joined in mid-2011 Simon initially led the Morrisons Storage Transformation programme, before taking on additional responsibility for DR, BC and Data Centres. In late 2014 Simon became Head of Technology and now leads cross-functional teams and has accountability for; Storage, Network, Data Centre, Unix/Linux, Mainframe, Windows Server, Virtualisation and Systems Management. Prior to joining Morrisons Simon was the Head of Storage at Lloyds Banking Group. Having joined the Halifax Building Society as a Mainframe Systems Programmer in 1990 Simon has held a number of operational and strategic IT roles as the organisation transformed through a number of mergers and acquisitions (Halifax Building Society, Halifax, HBOS & LBG).
