Profile of Dr Annie Hunningher
Annie is a Consultant in Anaesthesia at the Royal London, Barts Health.
A group of clinicians have formed a team to try to standardise signage in the perioperative environment, known as the "Peri-operative Highway Code. This is the topic which Annie will present to the meeting and links to her interests of human factors, patient safety, MDT working and culture.
Annie is leading on the National Safety Standards for Invasive procedures (NatSSIPs) as the trust wide director. Annie was a UCLP improvement fellow 2017, is part of the Q community and has driven a number of perioperative safety improvement projects. The Barts Health NatSSIPs work is ongoing and has been showcased on the NHS Improvement website. Annie has developed and delivered educational courses including most recently a local NatSSIPs MDT training session, a national NatSSIPs implementation course, MATCH (Multidisciplinary action training in crises and human factors) and Gas Again (a return to work course for anaesthetists which won the Humphry Davy Award Royal College of Anaesthetists 2017). Annie is a co-organiser of a yearly free national safety conference, www.periopsafety.net and is a member of the recently formed perioperative safety network (PSN) across London.
