Qualified: Trinity College Cambridge (1979). Institution/ Practice: Newmarket Equine Hospital, Newmarket, UK. Career: He obtained the Diploma in Equine Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1991 and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgery in 1993. To date he has made over 150 national and international scientific presentations and taught post graduate courses in surgery, arthroscopy, internal fixation, anaesthesia, stud medicine, radiology and diagnostic techniques. He has published 47 refereed and commissioned papers on equine surgery and orthopaedics and was awarded the Equine Veterinary Journal Richard Hartley Clinical Prize in 1994 and 1999. He has also written 6 book chapters and edited 2 text books including the 3rd and 4th Editions of Diagnostic and Surgical Arthroscopy in the Horse. He joined Newmarket Equine Hospital in 1996 where he runs the surgical referral service and is Director of Clinical Services. His operating log has averaged 534 surgeries per annum over the last 5 years. He has been a consultant for international race meetings and 3 day events including the London 2012 Olympic Games.
