Profile of Mr Andy Stringer

Qualified: University of Liverpool (2005). Institution/Practice: SPANA (Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad), 14 John Street, London, WC1N 2EB, UK. Career: After graduating with a degree in Veterinary Science (BVSc, MRCVS) from the University of Liverpool in 2005, Andy worked as a voluntary veterinary surgeon for SPANA in Morocco. On returning to the UK, Andy then completed a one year equine medicine and surgery internship at a university teaching hospital before working as an ambulatory veterinary surgeon in a sports horse practice. In 2007 he began a PhD at the University of Liverpool researching the impact and effectiveness of health and welfare education programmes for horse and donkey owners in Ethiopia. Andy became Director of Veterinary Programmes at SPANA in September 2010. Interests: Working equid health and disease; international animal health.
