Qualified: Berlin, Germany. Institution/Practice: Virology Dept, Animal Health Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA), Surrey.
Career: Trained as a vet at the FU Berlin. Post graduate qualifications in virology and immunology at the FU Berlin before moving on briefly to the Institute of Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin. Joined AHVLA (VLA) in 2005. Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Univ Surrey, Guildford. Teaching virology and immunology for veterinary medicine and veterinary biosciences. Interests: Host-pathogen interaction of viruses and the immune system; new and emerging diseases. Chair of the European Veterinary Immunology Group (EVIG).
