Prof Klaus Brehm

Our work aims at elucidating molecular host-parasite interactions in cestode infections, cestode genetics/genomics and developmental biology, immune evasion by flatworm parasites, and the development of novel anti-infectives against flatworm parasite diseases. As a model system we are focusing on the fox-tapeworm Echinococcus multilocularis, the causative agent of the lethal disease alveolar echinococcosis.
