Profile of Dr Jules Minke
Career: Jules Minke graduated with distinction in 1985 from the Veterinary Faculty, Utrecht, The Netherlands. He received his PhD with the highest distinction at the same Faculty in 1990. He worked at Solvay Duphar from 1990-1996 as head of Clinical Operations for companion animals. He joined Merial in 1996 and is currently Head of Research Projects Biologicals with global responsibility. He brings over 20 years of experience in the animal vaccine industry and vaccinology.
He has spearheaded the development and successful registration of vaccines in the US and EU, including vaccines for equine influenza, herpes and WNV and several combination vaccines for dogs and cats. He has been instrumental in the development and patenting of the canarypox recombinant platform technology used in animals. Dr. Minke is (co-)author of more than 35 peer reviewed papers in international journals and holds several patents. Interests: Vaccinology, infectious diseases of companion animals and livestock.
