Career: Celia is based at Rossdales Equine Hospital, Newmarket providing services in equine cardiology, internal medicine and intensive care and is an Honorary Professor in the University of Glasgow Veterinary School. She graduated from the Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1985, then remained in Glasgow to complete both Masters and PhD degrees. She then held a Fulbright Scholarship studying equine cardiology and internal medicine at the New Bolton Center, University of Pennsylvania. She has subsequently held positions at the University of Cambridge Veterinary School, Valley Equine Hospital, Lambourn and the Royal Veterinary College.
She is a Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine and has clinical interests in cardiology, medical imaging and internal medicine. She has published research papers and educational material relating to a range of medical disorders of the horse, concentrating on cardiovascular disease and diagnostic methods in medical disorders including editing the book Cardiology of the Horse, the 2nd edition of which has recently been published. In January 2011 became Editor of the Equine Veterinary Journal. Interests: Cardiovascular medicine, internal medicine, adult and neonatal intensive care, and medical imaging.
