Dr Jessica Kidd

Qualified: Purdue University, Indiana, USA. Institution/Practice: The Valley Equine Hospital, Upper Lambourn Road, Lambourn, Berkshire RG17 8QG, UK. Career: After 2 years in mixed practice in Connecticut, Jessica completed an internship at the Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Florida in a hospital whose main focus was racehorses. This was followed by a surgical residency at the University of Bristol and then 2 years as a surgeon at the University of Glasgow's veterinary school. After 4 years at the Equine Hospital at the University of Cambridge, she returned to private practice in Lambourn, Berkshire as the surgeon in a predominantly racehorse practice. Interests: She is involved in the provision of CPD in the UK and abroad and examined for both the soft tissue and orthopaedics RCVS certificates. She is also a member of the Vets with Horsepower team, a group of equine vets who with an interest in both motorcycles and the welfare of working equids abroad, which raises money for SPANA through motorcycle CPD tours.
