Profile of Prof Josh Slater
Qualifications: BVM&S PhD DipECEIM MRCVS.
Qualified: University of Edinburgh. Institution/Practice: Royal Veterinary College.
Career: Josh worked in equine practice before completing a residency in equine medicine, a PhD in equine infectious diseases and becoming a lecturer, then senior lecturer in equine medicine at Cambridge Veterinary School. He is currently professor of equine clinical studies at the Royal Veterinary College. His main clinical and research interests are in equine infectious diseases. He is a past president of BEVA, ECEIM and FEEVA. He was biosecurity advisor for the 2008 Equestrian Olympic Games, the London 2012 Equestrian Olympic Games and the World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy.
Interests: Equine infectious respiratory diseases and biosecurity.
