Profile of Prof Celia Marr
Qualifications: BVMS MVM PhD DEIm DipECEIM MRCVS.
Qualified: University of Glasgow. Institution/Practice: Rossdales Equine Hospital and Diagnostic Centre.
Career: After graduation, Celia remained in Glasgow and completed a Masters and PhD. She then studied equine cardiology and internal medicine at the New Bolton Center, Pennsylvania. She subsequently held positions at the University of Cambridge Veterinary School, Valley Equine Hospital, and the Royal Veterinary College. She is an Honorary Professor of the University of Glasgow, Editor of the Equine Veterinary Journal, Chair of the Veterinary Advisory Committee of the Horserace Betting Levy Board, and medical consultant to Troytown Grey Abbey Equine Services and Ardene House Veterinary Hospital.
Interests: Celia’s clinical practice is in equine cardiology, internal medicine and intensive care based at the Rossdales Equine Hospital and Diagnostic Centre, Newmarket, Suffolk. She has published research papers and educational material concentrating on cardiovascular disease and diagnostic methods in equine medical disorders including editing a textbook, Cardiology of the Horse, now in its second edition.
