Profile of Mrs Angela Garner
Qualifications: Registered General Nurse (RGN) & Op Dept. Nursing, Diploma in Pet Bereavement Counselling (DipPBC), Fellow of The Society of Bereavement Practitioners (FSBP), Certificate in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Sector (PTTLS).
Qualified: Bristol United Hospitals, Animal Care College, Exeter CVS. Institution/Practice: Animal Bereavement Specialist for: Environmental Animal Sanctuary & Education (EASE).
Career: During 30 years in human healthcare as an RGN, Angela developed a strong interest in end-of-life issues – communicating with the bereaved. With an ongoing passion for animal welfare, it was a natural progression to train in Animal Bereavement Counselling, before agreeing to set up and run an innovative national pet bereavement support service for a small charity. She was awarded a Fellowship by the Society of Bereavement Practitioners in respect of this work. She currently works as a Consultant Specialist for different organisations and runs an Animal Bereavement Support Consultancy – CPD training for regional and national vet companies, and is a Bereavement Consultant for The Donkey Sanctuary, UK.
