Profile of Mrs Joanna Suthers

Qualifications: BVM&S MPhil CertES(Soft tissue) DipECVS MRCVS.
Jo graduated from the University of Edinburgh and worked at Bourton Vale Equine Clinic before completing an Equine internship in at the University of Liverpool. She then worked at Bushy Equine Vets before returning to the University of Liverpool to complete a residency in equine surgery, obtaining the RCVS Certificate in Equine Surgery (Soft tissue) in 2011. Whilst at Liverpool she also undertook an MPhil in Epidemiology, researching survival following large colon torsion and risk factors for large colon torsion. In 2013 she worked at the Helsingborg Equine Hospital in Sweden before returning to the UK as a surgeon at B and W Equine Hospital in Gloucestershire. In 2014 she gained the ECVS Diploma.
Particular interests include colic surgery, surgery and imaging of the equine skull including computed tomography (CT), lameness investigation and epidemiology.
