Profile of Mr Rob Van Pelt

Qualifications: BVSc Bachelor of Science, Medical Biochemistry and Physiology CertEP.
Qualified: Massey University, New Zealand. Institution/Practice: Arundel Equine Hospital.
Career: Rob’s first job was in Rotorua as a general large animal practitioner. He soon gravitated towards horses having been involved with them all his life. After 4 years Rob and his wife embarked on their overseas travel. A chance meeting with a partner in the Arundel Equine Hospital saw Rob start work in 1990. He became a partner in 1994. Rob has a keen interest in competition horse work especially racing. He has acted as Secretary and then chairman of the Association of Racecourse Veterinary surgeons, is part of the Doncaster prepurchase sales panel, is an FEI vet officiating at Hickstead international showjumping and Burghley 3-day horse trials.
Interests: Competition horse medicine and surgery; tendon injuries; joint therapy.
