Profile of Dr Kate Allen

Qualifications: BVSc CertEM(IntMed) PhD DipACVSMR MRCVS
Qualified: University of Liverpool. Institution/Practice: University of Bristol. Career: Kate undertook a sports medicine residency at Bristol University followed by a PhD in upper airway obstructions. She became the first UK vet to obtain the Diploma of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and is an RCVS recognised specialist in equine sports medicine. Interests: Kate's clinical and research interest is the management of poor performance in the equine athlete. In particular, the diagnosis, cause and management of dynamic upper respiratory tract obstructions. Her current research is investigating the role of the respiratory muscles in performance limitation.
