Career: Following graduation, Jos spent 3 years in mixed and then predominantly equine practice before completing an equine internship at Dierenklinik de Bosdreef in Belgium in 2003. After another stint in first opinion equine practice in Essex, in 2006 she was appointed as a Horse Trust resident in equine internal medicine and pharmacology at the Royal Veterinary College. She then worked at a large referral equine practice in Kent before becoming a lecturer in equine internal medicine at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, the University of Nottingham in 2010. She is part of the medicine referral service team at its clinical associate, Oakham Veterinary Hospital. She gained the RCVS certificate in internal medicine in 2009 and became a diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine in 2014, gaining European specialist status. Interests: Clinical and research interests include all aspects of equine internal medicine, but with particular interest in gastrointestinal and respiratory disease and ophthalmology.
