Career: Synopsis: 2 years private equine practice; 3 years University of Edinburgh first opinion equine practice; University of Edinburgh equine internal medicine referral service since 1994, with 2 x 3 year research periods – (1) recurrent airway obstruction, (2) equine grass sickness. Additional qualifications: 1994 – RCVS Certificate in Equine Practice; 1996 – RCVS Certificate in Equine Internal Medicine; 2002 – PhD; 2004 – European Diploma in Equine Internal Medicine.
Interests: Clinical: Equine pulmonology and gastroenterology. Research: Equine environmental airway disease; innate immune response of the equine lung; Equine dysautonomia aetiopathogenesis; post operative ileus.
