Profile of Mrs Wendy Furness
Qualifications: MA VetMB CertEP MRCVS.
Qualified: University of Cambridge. Institution/Practice: Scarsdale Veterinary Group.
Career: Wendy graduated from Cambridge in 1997 then completed an equine Internship at the Animal Health Trust. She joined the Scarsdale Veterinary Group in 1998, gained her Certificate in Equine Practice in 2003 and joined the Scarsdale Partnership in 2006. The Practice is a Clinical Associate Practice of the University of Nottingham and as such she is involved with final year teaching. She was also involved in setting the practice up as an equine nurse training centre when the qualification first came out. Wendy has also sat on the board of XLVets UK Ltd and been part of its equine executive since its inception. Wendy is currently studying for an Executive MBA at the University of Nottingham.
Interests: Wendy’s clinical interests are in lameness investigation and causes of poor performance in sports horses. On the business side of the practice, her areas of interest are finance, marketing, development of high performing teams and change management.
