Career: Graduated in 1992 from Ghent University and immediately started working in the Department of Large Animal Internal Medicine, Ghent University, Belgium. PhD in 2001 on ‘Atrial pacing and experimental atrial fibrillation in equines’. Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) since 2004. Associate Member of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) since 2011. Board member of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) 2006-2013. Professor in large animal internal medicine at Ghent University, Belgium since 2004.
Interests: Cardiology: arrhythmias, anti-arrhythmic drugs, pacing, pacemaker, electrophysiology, echocardiography, tissue Doppler imaging, 2D speckle tracking, vascular pathology, cardiac biomarkers; thoracic and abdominal ultrasound; internal medicine.
