Qualified: Gent University, Belgium. Institution/Practice: Equine Hospital De Bosdreef, Belgium.
Career: Hans graduated from Ghent University, Belgium in 1987. Internship in an equine hospital in South of France and an alternate equine surgical residency program in Tortington equine hospital in Arundel West Sussex, UK from 1989 to 1992. He is a funding partner of the equine referral hospital De Bosdreef in Moerbeke-Waas, Belgium (1992). He became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1995. Together with his partners, he now manages two of the most important private equine hospitals in Belgium (Equine hospital De Bosdreef and Equine hospital De Morette). His daily work involves lameness examinations and equine surgery (orthopaedics and soft tissue) with a special interest in orthopaedic surgery and laparoscopy. He is an invited speaker on many international meetings and international continuing education courses and he is an invited surgeon in several European hospitals mainly for orthopaedic and laparoscopic surgeries.
