Dr Nicola Pusterla

Career: Nicola graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Zurich, Switzerland in 1991. He worked in the private and academic sector with a focus in large animal internal medicine. He earned his PhD degree from the University of Zurich with an emphasis on vector-borne diseases. He joined UC Davis in 1998 where he currently holds an appointment as a Professor in Equine Internal Medicine. He is also Chief of the Large Animal Medicine Services at the William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Interests: Nicola is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine with an equine emphasis and he has ongoing interest in all aspects of equine internal medicine and dentistry. His research focuses on selected aspects of equine infectious diseases with an emphasis on epidemiology, clinical disease understanding, diagnostics, prevention, and treatment.
