Profile of Ms Frances James

Qualifications: MA VetMB.
Qualified: University of Cambridge. Institution/Practice: Donnington Grove Veterinary Surgery.
Career: Following graduation from Cambridge in 2001, Fran spent one year as an intern in large animal surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, New Bolton Center followed by a 3 year residency in large animal surgery. She remained at the New Bolton Center for a further 3 years as a lecturer in Equine Sports Medicine before returning to the UK in 2008 as an Equine Surgeon at O’Gorman, Slater and Main, later Donnington Grove Veterinary Surgery, with a major interest in nuclear scintigraphy and low-grade performance limiting lameness. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2007 and a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009. She has been an RCVS recognised Specialist in Equine Surgery since 2010.
Interests: Equine sports medicine; nuclear scintigraphy.
