Mrs Karen Coumbe

Qualifications: MA VetMB CertEP CertVA MRCVS.
Qualified: University of Cambridge. Institution/Practice: Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic.
Career: Karen has worked as a vet in practice for over 30 years. She was initially in mixed practice at Crowhurst & Partners in Kent from 1984 to 1989. In 1989, she moved to a specialist equine practice with one colleague when the business started, which is now a RCVS approved equine hospital. She has been a partner since 1995 and then became a director, when the practice incorporated in 2012. Along the way, Karen has acquired 2 RCVS ‘old style’ certificates (equine practice and anaesthesia) and FEI accreditation and worked at a vast variety of equine events over the years, as either treating and/or FEI vet, variously. Interests: Equine anaesthesia, pain management and critical care/emergency equine support. Sports medicine and equine performance, PPEs and ophthalmology, dermatology and ultrasonography. Equine nursing and support services. Trying to write clear equine vet information for the public.
