Profile of Dr Madeleine Campbell
Qualifications: BVetMed(Hons) MA(Oxon) MA(Keele) PhD DipECAR MRCVS
Qualified: The Royal Veterinary College. Institution/Practice: The Royal Veterinary College and Hobgoblins Stud Equine Reproduction Centre.
Career: Madeleine is a RCVS and European Specialist in Equine Reproduction, and holds an MA in medical ethics and law. Between 2011 and 2014 she was the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow in Veterinary Ethics at the Royal Veterinary College, where she currently continues her research on veterinary and animal ethics. She is a past President of BEVA, a current member of the board of the European College of Animal Reproduction, and Chair of the BVA’s Ethics and Welfare Group. Interests: Madeleine has an active research interest in and has published on the ethics of the use of animals in sport, and the ethical dilemmas faced by veterinarians working in equine sports medicine. She has also published on the ethics of assisted reproductive technologies in non-human mammals, and is currently researching the ethics of veterinary evidence-based medicine.
