Profile of Mr Hoden Wan
Hoden has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in consulting businesses on implementing the appropriate tools and methodologies, so as to improve organisational analysis, decision making and performance management, so as to maximise Business ROI in as operational a manner as possible.
His career as an employee included working in multinational companies like Coopers & Lybrand, Hewlett Packard and SAP. In 2004 he set up his own consultancy business and has grown in strength from 4 people to 30 at present, with offices in Singapore and Malaysia and sales activities in Indonesia, Thailand and Hong Kong. Some of the recent customers are Johnson & Johnson, Singpost, Jurong Town Corporation, Monetary Authority, and Malaysian Airlines etc.
As one of the two founders and key director of Hypercube Consulting Pte Ltd, Hoden specialises in Business Consulting and Strategic Planning for organisations who want to improve their business performance by identifying key business drivers.
Hoden’s unique capabilities have made him a much sought after adviser and consultant to assist companies get the best value from all of their business resources. Hoden has extensive working experience both as a Management Accountant, as well as a Business Consultant. His expertise includes creation of business simulation models for advanced planning and decision making.
His experience spans implementation of SAP®’s Business Intelligence (BI) and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Solutions, and across to Cognos and simulation solutions like Powersim. These implementations help companies build strong business foundation using proven methods and technologies. Some prime examples of these implementations are “The Balanced Scorecard”, SAP®’s “Management Cockpit”, “Dynamic Planning” and “Strategic Risk Management”. He has also led implementation teams for SAP Budgeting Planning and Consolidation (BPC) implementations. These BPC implementations are relevant to the business needs and always designed from an operational perspective.
Hoden has conducted numerous workshops for each of these areas both in Singapore and within East Asia.
Hoden graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), and a Post-graduate Diploma in Accounting from the Australian National University. He also has an Executive MBA with the Chicago Graduate School of Business. He had the honour of being asked to assist Prof Steve Davis to tutor in Macro Economics for the AXP4 programme at the Singapore Chicago Executive MBA .
Over the last few years, Hoden’s focus has been the application of the powerful strategies of System’s Thinking Methodology in Strategic Business Planning. Conceptualising advanced business simulation models for customer’s to perform powerful ‘what-if’ analysis.
He is dedicated to teaching and assisting managers in using this methodology to improve their ability to use information more effectively, thereby making superior business decisions.
In addition, Hoden has been consultant to companies who want an independent assessment of what technologies will best fit their needs. He has demonstrated absolute impartiality in this respect always demonstrating the value of a particular software and its shortcomings in comparison to another software.
