Profile of Rafaela Bozic
Rafaela Božić is a full professor at the Department of Russian Studies, University of Zadar, Croatia. She studied English and Russian languages and literatures and holds two master's (University of Zadar) and a doctoral degree from the University of Zagreb. She also holds a position of professor at the University of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In her Ph.D. thesis (2007) she analysed the syntax in the poetic work of Joseph Brodsky. The topic of poetic syntax she further analysed in her book Syntax and Verse, 2018. The topic of dystopian and utopian literature is also her great interested, resulting in the book The Language of the Dystopian Novel, 2017. She also published dozens of scientific articles in Croatian, English and Russian. As part of the Erasmus and Ceepus programs, she held lectures at the universities of Graz, Ljubljana, Olomouc and Lublin. She also held lectures at the universities of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Göttingen. In 2014, she received the SFERA award for the best theoretical work for the book The Language of the Dystopian Novel. In 2016, she received the Rector's Award of the University of Zadar in recognition of her achievements in scientific and teaching work.
