Profile of Jakob Wunderwald
Jakob Wunderwald is a literary scholar, lecturer, and PhD candidate at the Institute for Slavic Studies of the University of Potsdam, Germany. He earned his M.A. and his B.A. in Slavic Studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin. His PhD research is interested in concepts of “truth” in Belarusian Soviet literature of the post-World War II period, and is centered around the works of Vasil Bykau, Uladzimir Karatkevich, and Ivan Shamiakin. Important focus points of his research are the question of the post-coloniality of the post-Soviet space and theories of nation building. Outside of academia, he works as a literary translator from Ukrainian and Belarusian.
