Profile of Janis Ozolins
Jānis Ozoliņš, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at the Art Academy of Latvia and a researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore, and Art of the University of Latvia. He is editor of the book Andra Neiburga: Language, Gender, Narrative and Image (2018, ILFA) and co-editor of the books Monta Kroma: The Experience and Reflexy of Soviet Modernism (forthcoming (2022), ILFA) and Queer Stories of Europe (2016, Cambridge Scholars Publishing). Currently, he is researching representations of queer bodies and feelings in contemporary Latvian art and Soviet cinema, the historical development of narrative theories, and the literary heritage of writer Andra Neiburga. He composes music, performs as a pianist, and released three music albums with his band Grupa Sigma.
