Profile of Miloš Zapletal
Miloš Zapletal (b. 1987) teaches museum studies at the Silesian University in Opava, Czech Republic. Miloš was previously a researcher at the Ethnological Institute of Prague’s Czech Academy of Sciences. He studied musicology and film studies at Masaryk University in Brno, where he also defended his Ph.D. thesis in 2017. He recently published an extensive monograph on early Janáček reception and contributed essays to The Routledge Companion to Applied Musicology (2023) and to the History of Music in the Czech Lands (forthcoming) for Cambridge University Press. He is currently working on two books, the first on Iva Bittová, the second on the British early-eighties pop music.
