Dr Nathan Kosgei

I am a veterinarian passionate about , community development,research, One health, Epidemiology,animal health, Small animal medicine and surgery, orthopedics ,dairy cattle , disease surveillance and control, development of dairy chain and food security, which leads to economic development and poverty reduction through increased livestock productivity and sustainability. During my course study and field attachments in my undergraduate level and internship program at Elgon Kenya limited company, Veterinary science research institute, Geneplus Global LTD, I pursued every opportunity to learn and develop my skills in the animal sector and One health,through farm visits and farmer’s training programs where I gained experience on research, disease control and prevention of zoonotic diseases. I am open to putting my skills into practice, learning and gaining more skills whenever an opportunity arises and my aim is to build on my prior experience and making meaningful contribution in the animal sector and promoting food security through maximum productivity. I have participated in World Congress on undergraduate research to do a presentation on a project on mastitis, one of the themes of the congress was on sustainability. I have also participated in a summer school program on planetary health which was taking place in Groningen via zoom meeting and one of the key issues discussed was on sustainability and how human activities have caused global warming which has affected the planetary health. I am also a sales oriented veterinarian with expertise in client relationship, management, customer satisfaction and retention. I have experience contributing to promoting products and improvement of sales of pharmaceutical products while working as an intern in the position of animal health sales assistant at Elgon Kenya limited animal health department.my aim is to build prior experience and make meaningful contribution in the Livestock sector ,In addition to my veterinary skills, I have good leadership, social and communication skills.
