Jean Stafford

I am a postdoctoral research fellow in psychiatric epidemiology based in the MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing at UCL. My research is broadly focused on the epidemiology of dementia and mental health in older people. In my current post, I am investigating the longitudinal relationships between social health, cognition and dementia across multiple cohort studies as part of the Social Health and Reserve in the Dementia Patient Journey (SHARED) international consortium. During my PhD and NIHR BRC postdoctoral bridging fellowship, I investigated the incidence of very late-onset psychotic disorders in Swedish register data and the associations between psychiatric disorders and subsequent dementia risk.
