Profile of Agne Gintalaite
Agnė Gintalaitė is a PhD candidate in ethnology/cultural anthropology at the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore (2024–2028). Her doctoral research examines lifestyle mobility among Lithuanian women, focusing on identity negotiations, mobility imaginaries, and the tensions between normative structures and transgressive mobility practices. She investigates how personal narratives of mobility reflect broader social and cultural shifts.
In addition to her academic studies, Agnė is an interdisciplinary artist, working primarily with photography. She investigates the role of algorithmic errors in generative AI, examining how machine-generated distortions challenge notions of authenticity, authorship, and visual truth in contemporary digital culture.
Before returning to academia, she spent over a decade in publishing, advertising, and local cultural journalism, experiences that continue to shape her interdisciplinary approach.
