Profile of Dr Eva Gluenz
I am a microbiologist with a longstanding interest in the molecular cell biology of kinetoplastids. The main focus of my recent work has been the structure and function of the Leishmania flagellum in different life cycle stages.
My group developed CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing tools for kinetoplastids and we are now applying high-throughput gene editing and phenotyping methods to study gene function Leishmania and identify genes that are vital for completion of the life cycle and pathogenicity.
