Profile of Prof Jacqui Matthews
Currently, Jacqui is Coordinator a 9 million euro EU Horizon 2020 project, PARAGONE, which brings together 17 scientific and industrial partners from across the globe to develop vaccines for multicellular parasites. She is also Principal Investigator on helminthology projects funded by DEFRA/VMD, the BBSRC and the Horse Trust. She holds a ministerial appointment on the UK Veterinary Products Committee, with membership of committees on parasite control guidelines, animal welfare trustee boards, the BBSRC Pool of Experts and journal editorial boards. She lectures and examines at several UK veterinary schools and regularly provides seminars on worm control to farmers, horse owners, SQPs, veterinarians and other stakeholders. She has a strong commitment to post-graduate teaching and is Chair of Moredun’s Post-graduate Committee.
Jacqui holds an Honorary Professorship at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, and is Translational Facilitator of the University of Edinburgh’s Centre of Immunity, Infection and Evolution (http://ciie.bio.ed.ac.uk/).
