Profile of Narcyza Giemza
Independent Researcher specialising in the history of the medieval Grand Duchy of Lithuania. She studied at the BA level (2010–2013) at the University of Silesia, acquiring a methodological foundation in auxiliary sciences of history: palaeography, sigillography, and heraldry.
A practicing artist (Fine Arts School in Krakow, 2021–2023) and historical reenactor, she specializes in the craftsmanship of weaponry and glass and amber jewelry. She also possesses practical experience in traditional horsemanship and historical archery (Assistant Instructor, 2022).
She possesses over a decade of background in independent research on ancient and folk magic practices and Baltic beliefs. Her central work, however, is dedicated to the Gediminid dynasty. For the past five years, she has merged political history with cultural anthropology to examine mechanisms of power and religious transformation. Her primary goal is deconstructing the "black legend" of Duke Skirgaila and restoring his historical identity.
