This article examines how Russian-speaking teenagers living in Catalonia perceive and discuss gender in their daily lives and family interactions. Based on 20 in-depth interviews with adolescents aged 13–17, the study analyzes how they construct meanings of gender across intersecting cultural and linguistic contexts. The findings show that teenagers actively negotiate between traditional gender norms present in many Russian-speaking households and the more egalitarian discourses they encounter in Catalan and broader European settings. Their conversations with parents often reveal tensions, humor, and subtle resistance, reflecting both generational and cultural shifts. The study contributes to understanding how transnational youth articulate and reshape gender identities within multilingual and multicultural environments.
