Discussion

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has raised important ethical, epistemological, and methodological questions for scholars. Gathering Russia experts from different disciplines, national contexts, and career stages, this roundtable focuses on the way teaching methods and practices have been transformed since 2022. Acknowledging that the way we teach “Russia” has to be thoroughly rethought, we will discuss the issues that we have faced, and strive to propose new perspectives on pedagogical approaches, teaching themes, research methodologies, authors and readings, use of sources and selection of thesis topics.
