Discussion

This roundtable will be a public discussion to consider innovative approaches to the teaching of Soviet and Eurasian history based on the experiences of the participants. These include experimenting with pedagogy to meet the learning needs of this post-Covid generation of students. These new approaches include incorporating active learning such as scenario-based and role play activities, and technology-enhanced learning approaches in the classroom. We will talk about our experiences using new digital tools and AI, as well as broadening our source materials to engage students with social media, film and documentaries, podcasts and other forms of multimedia produced in the region in an attempt to further decolonise the history classroom.
