Discussion

This paper will analyze how Czech social democracy managed its party crisis and sought to regain political relevance. The main aspects to be discussed are organization, leadership, strategy, and appeals. The concept of a party crisis will be applied, and other, older cases—involving centre-left parties across Europe as well as Czech centre-right parties—will be used as a comparative framework.
