Precision medicine is driven by the concept that an individual’s Omic (proteomic) signature will provide a physician with a clinically actionable diagnosis and subsequent mechanistic therapeutic route. Continuous monitoring of circulating protein biomarkers is an unmet opportunity to assess an individual’s health in real-time as part of disease management and preventive clinical care. Simultaneously there is a need to increase the breadth of therapeutics available and to identify the appropriate therapy(ies) for each individual based on analysis of their cellular avatar. Enablement requires automation, scalability and normalization of proteomics while balancing cost effectiveness in the discovery and clinical domains as well as models for adoption into the health care system.
