Profile of Dr Alison Obergrussberger

I am a patch clamp electrophysiologist with over 15 years experience of automated patch clamp and a further 5 years experience of manual patch clamp. I completed my PhD in 2004 studying the effects of intravenous anaesthetics on GABAA receptors recorded from cerebellar brain slices from knock-out and knock-in mice. Following my PhD I did a 2 year postdoc at the University of Queensland using the patch clamp technique to study voltage-gated calcium and potassium channels. In 2006 I joined Nanion as an Application Scientist and am now Senior Scientist and Scientific Communications Manager where I am constantly improving my knowledge about ion channels and drug discovery.
