Profile of Dr Ravindra Jumde

Ravindra P. Jumde received his Master’s degree in chemistry from S.G.B. Amravati University (India). In 2009 he won a ‘Galileo Galilei PhD fellowship’ at the University of Pisa (Italy), to work in the group of Prof. D. Pini and Dr. A. Mandoli on ‘supported chiral ligands and organocatalysts for enantioselective transformations.’ In 2012 he started his post-doctoral research in the group of Dr. C. Evangilisti and Dr. A. Mandoli at the University of Pisa and ISTM-CNR (Italy) to work on the flow chemistry and asymmetric methodology development projects. In 2015, Ravindra joined the group of Prof. S. R. Harutyunyan at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) and worked in asymmetric catalysis. In 2017, he joined the group of Prof. A. K. H. Hirsch at HIPS-HZI (Germany) and got a Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant to work on the Medicinal chemistry project: ‘the use of target-directed dynamic combinatorial chemistry (tdDCC) to find inhibitors of anti-infective targets’. Ravindra’s research activities include the use of non-conventional approaches in drug discovery processes, like tdDCC and chiral building blocks in the early stages of drug discovery.
